An undiagnosed condition is an ongoing symptom or health issue with an unknown cause that is still being investigated.
What you need to know about undiagnosed conditions
This article explains what we mean by an undiagnosed condition and what you need to tell us while tests or investigations are ongoing.
What counts as an undiagnosed condition?
A condition may be considered undiagnosed if you have ongoing symptoms but the underlying cause has not yet been confirmed and you are receiving tests, treatment or ongoing investigations.
We are unable to cover undiagnosed conditions. However, we may still be able to offer cover, excluding the undiagnosed symptoms.
What should I do if I am having tests or investigations?
You must provide full and accurate information about your health and tell us if you or anyone insured on the policy:
- develops a new medical condition
- experiences a change to an existing medical condition
- has medication changed or amended
- is placed on a waiting list that could cause the trip to be cancelled or cut short
You should also consult your medical practitioner about relevant changes to your health.
If you do not provide full and accurate information when you buy your policy or when your circumstances change, your cover could be invalid and a claim may be rejected.
What if I do not know my diagnosis yet?
Do not guess. Speak to your GP or another medical professional about your symptoms and any ongoing investigations.
Speak to an adviser if your health changes or you are unsure what information you need to declare.
Eligibility, terms and exclusions apply. Please refer to your policy documents for full details.
