Do I need to declare any medical conditions I had over two years ago?

You may still need to declare a medical condition that was diagnosed more than two years ago if you have received medication, treatment or medical advice for it within the last two years.

When do I need to declare an older medical condition?

You need to declare the condition if, during the last two years, you have:

  • taken prescribed medication for it
  • received medical treatment or medical advice at a hospital, clinic, GP surgery or through a remote consultation
  • received or been offered palliative care

It does not matter when the condition was originally diagnosed. What matters is whether any of these circumstances have applied within the last two years.

What if I have not needed treatment for over two years?

If you have had no prescribed medication, treatment or medical advice for that condition during the last two years, and none of the other medical disclosure requirements apply, you would not need to declare it on that basis.

Always take reasonable care to answer every medical screening question fully and accurately.

Still unsure?

Speak to an adviser if you are unsure whether an older medical condition needs to be declared.

Eligibility, terms and exclusions apply. Please refer to your policy documents for full details.
