Travel insurance helps protect you from unexpected costs before or during your holiday, so you are not left to pay for them yourself.
What your travel insurance covers depends on your plan and situation. It can include:
- Cancelling or cutting your holiday short for specified insured reasons. Cancellation must be necessary and unavoidable.
- Travel disruption, including travel delay and abandonment. Silver, Gold and Black also include missed departure cover.
- Emergency medical treatment abroad, including necessary medical expenses and repatriation where the policy conditions are met.
- Lost, stolen or damaged belongings, including baggage, personal money and passports, subject to the relevant limits and conditions.
- Personal accident, which provides benefits for specified serious injuries or death.
- Personal liability, if an accident during your trip leads to a claim against you for injuring another person or damaging someone else's property.
Travel insurance does not cover every situation.
Your cover only applies to the events listed in your policy and is subject to limits, excesses, conditions, and exclusions.
The amount of cover you get depends on whether you choose Budget, Silver, Gold, or Black.
Some extra cover is only included if you add it to your policy.
