The length of time you can travel depends on whether you have a Single Trip or Annual Multi-Trip policy, as well as your destination, age, plan, and any medical conditions.
How long can I travel on a Single Trip policy?
A Single Trip policy lets you travel for up to 365 days.
Some places have shorter maximum trip lengths:
- UK: up to 31 days
- Spain, Canary Islands, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean: up to 60 days
Your Single Trip policy ends when you return to the UK.
How long can I travel on an Annual Multi-Trip policy?
If you have an Annual Multi-Trip policy, you can take several trips in one policy year. Each trip has its own maximum length, so check before you travel:
| Plan | Maximum duration per trip |
|---|---|
| Budget | 31 days |
| Silver | 45 days* |
| Gold | 45 days* |
| Black | 55 days* |
If you are aged 71 or over and travelling to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean, the maximum trip duration is 35 days on Silver, Gold and Black policies.
For Silver, Gold, and Black policies, you can be covered for up to 183 days in total during the policy year.
Before you travel, look at your Policy Schedule and documents to make sure your trip fits the time and location limits for your plan.
