What this article helps you do

This article explains how Annual Multi-Trip insurance works and what to check before each trip.

How does Annual Multi-Trip insurance work?

With Annual Multi-Trip insurance:

  • you can take multiple trips during the policy period
  • each trip must stay within the maximum trip duration that applies to your plan, age and destination
  • your outward and return journeys must take place within the dates shown on your policy schedule
  • you must travel within the geographical region shown on your policy schedule
  • some activities or types of trip may need additional cover and an extra premium
  • you must tell us about relevant changes in your health as required by the policy

How long can each Annual Multi-Trip trip last?

The maximum trip duration depends on the plan you have.

Budget, Silver, Gold and Black have different trip-duration rules. Age and destination can also affect the maximum duration on some plans.

Check your policy schedule before booking or travelling to make sure your planned trip is within the applicable limit.

Can I add extra cover?

Some additional cover is available, but this varies by plan.

For example:

  • Extreme Sports & Activities can require an additional premium and must be shown on your policy schedule
  • Cruise Cover is available on Silver, Gold and Black with the required additional premium; Budget does not cover cruise trips
  • Business Cover is available on Silver, Gold and Black with the required additional premium; Budget does not cover business trips
  • Winter Sports Cover requires the appropriate additional premium
