A non-travelling relative is an immediate relative and is not travelling with you.
If the health of a non-travelling relative worsens significantly, you may need to cancel your trip or cut it short.
Cover may apply, subject to the policy terms and conditions, if:
- the relative’s doctor can confirm that, when you booked your trip or purchased your policy, there was no substantial likelihood of their condition worsening enough to make you cancel or cut short your trip; and
- the relative’s doctor completes the medical certificate on the claim form.
If the doctor cannot provide the required confirmation, the claim is not covered.
