Do I need to tell you about an accident?

You need to tell us if an accident results in a new medical condition, treatment or a change to your medication before you travel.

What this article helps you do

This article explains when an accident needs to be reported and what information you need to provide.

When do I need to tell you about an accident?

Please tell us if, following an accident, you have seen a doctor and:

  • been diagnosed with a new medical condition
  • been prescribed medication or had your medication changed
  • been scheduled for medical treatment
  • experienced a change to an existing medical condition

You must tell us about relevant changes to your health or medication before you travel.

What information do I need to provide?

When updating your medical details after an accident, we need the name of the diagnosed medical condition associated with your doctor visit.

You do not need to provide the name of medication you have been prescribed, although you should tell us that medication has been prescribed or changed when relevant.

If you are unsure what condition has been diagnosed, do not guess. Check with your doctor or medical practitioner first.

Still need help?

Speak to an adviser if your health has changed following an accident and you are unsure what you need to declare.

Eligibility, terms and exclusions apply. Please refer to your policy documents for full details.
