Who is covered under a Family Policy?

A Family policy covers up to two adults and at least one child under 18.

Who can be included on a Family policy?

When you request a travel insurance quote, you can select a Family policy for:

  • Up to two adults
  • At least one child under 18

To be covered, a child must be under 18 when the policy starts.

This can include:

  • Your children
  • Your partner’s children
  • Your grandchildren or your partner’s grandchildren
  • Stepchildren
  • Fostered children or grandchildren
  • Adopted children or grandchildren

They must meet the policy’s definition of a child.

They must also be dependent on you or your partner. For grandchildren, they can be dependent on you, your partner or their parent(s).

Children must:

  • Travel with an adult
  • Be listed on the same policy

Everyone included in the insurance must be named on the policy schedule and meet the eligibility requirements.

What if there are more than two adults?

If your family has more than two adults aged 18 or over, you’ll need a Group policy instead.

A Group policy can cover up to 10 people. Group members:

  • Can be related or unrelated
  • Don’t have to live at the same address
  • Don’t have to travel together or follow the same itinerary if they’re over 18

Each adult can be covered for their own trip, provided it meets the policy terms.
