Whether you are covered for repatriation depends on the activity and the type of cover you have chosen. If your policy includes the activity, repatriation may be included.
What if I am on a winter sports holiday?
Winter sports are only covered if you have paid the additional Winter Sports premium.
The winter sport you are doing must be listed in your policy, and you need to follow any rules that apply to that activity.
If you become seriously ill or injured and repatriation is medically necessary because of your medical condition, the Medical Emergency Expenses cover can include the necessary cost of returning you home.
What if I am on an adventure or activity holiday?
Some amateur sporting and adventure activities are covered as standard, subject to the conditions shown in the policy.
Other activities are considered Extreme Sports & Activities and need an extra premium. This cover should be listed on your Policy Schedule.
If your main reason for traveling is to do a certain activity, make sure your policy allows it as an activity holiday.
How does repatriation work?
Repatriation is not automatic immediately following an injury or illness, and it depends on your medical condition.
The policy’s medical team will decide if you need to be sent home and how you will travel, based on your medical needs and timing.
Check your policy documents before you travel to make sure your activity is covered and to see if you need to pay an extra premium.
Eligibility, terms and exclusions apply. Please refer to your policy documents for full details.
