What is covered under Extreme Sports & Activities?

You’re covered for a range of Extreme sports and activities, but there are specific limits and exclusions you need to be aware of.


What is covered

  • Cover applies during your single trip or annual multi-trip policy 
  • You are covered for up to a maximum of 15 days in total for Annual Multi-trip policies; the term of your Single Trip. 
  • A £100 medical excess applies per activity 

Important exclusions

  • There is no cover under: 
    • Personal accident 
    • Personal liability 
  • These exclusions apply while you are taking part in any of the listed activities 

Activities included

Cover applies to a wide range of activities, including:

  • Adventure and water-based activities:
    Canyoning, coasteering, white water rafting (grades 4–6), scuba diving (up to specified depths), shark diving (in a cage), sea kayaking 
  • Air and height-based activities:
    Paragliding, parachuting (Europe only), sky diving (Europe only), hang-gliding (Europe only), high diving 
  • Land and extreme sports:
    Mountain biking (including downhill), rock climbing (not mountaineering), rugby, roller derby, gymnastics (non-competitive) 
  • Motor and specialist activities:
    Quad biking, motorcycling over 125cc (with appropriate licence), micro lighting (Europe only)  
  • Other activities:

    Horse jumping, fencing, manual work (limited conditions), zorbing, via ferrata


What this means

  • You can take part in listed Extreme sports and activities with cover in place 
  • However, cover is time-limited, includes a medical excess, and excludes certain sections like personal liability


What to check

  • Whether your activity is on the approved list 
  • That you stay within the 15-day limit 
  • Any specific conditions (such as location or qualifications required)
