What is golf cover?

Golf Cover is an optional extra that can provide additional protection for your golf equipment, replacement equipment hire and unused green fees while you are away.

However, please note that you will be covered to play golf without the Golf Cover upgrade, without the golf cover benefits.

What this article helps you do

This article explains what Golf Cover is and how it can protect you on a golfing holiday.

What does Golf Cover include?

Golf Cover can provide additional protection for:

  • Golf equipment – if your own or hired golf equipment is lost, stolen or damaged during your trip.
  • Replacement golf equipment hire – if you need to hire replacement equipment because your own equipment is accidentally lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Unused green fees – if a serious illness or injury means you cannot play golf or use the golf facilities, subject to the relevant medical evidence and policy conditions.
  • Hole-in-one benefit – a benefit may be available if you score a qualifying hole-in-one during an organised game, subject to the policy conditions.

Golf equipment includes items such as golf clubs, golf balls, a golf bag, golf trolley and golf shoes.

What about the rest of my travel insurance?

Golf Cover sits alongside the other benefits included with your travel insurance.

Depending on your policy, this can include broader travel protection such as trip cancellation and emergency medical expenses, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions that apply.

Can golf be the main reason for my holiday?

Yes. You can be covered while playing golf even if golf is the main reason for your trip or you plan to play throughout your holiday.

Do I need to add Golf Cover?

Golf Cover is an optional extra on Silver, Gold and Black policies. You need to pay the appropriate additional premium for the Golf Cover section to apply.

Read your policy documents before travelling to check that you have the cover you need for your golfing holiday.

Eligibility, terms and exclusions apply. Please refer to your policy documents for full details.
