What each Cruise Cover benefit means

Missed port departure: If you miss your cruise departure because of certain transport problems, such as public transport disruption, a vehicle breakdown or an accident-related traffic jam, Cruise Cover can help with additional accommodation and travel costs to reach the next docking point.

Cabin confinement: If you are medically confined to your cabin, you can receive £100 for each full day of confinement, up to £1,000. Your confinement must be confirmed by the ship's medical officer. If it relates to a pre-existing medical condition, that condition must have been declared and accepted where required.

Itinerary change: If your cruise ship cannot make a scheduled port because of adverse weather or timetable restrictions, cover is £100 per missed port, up to £500.

Unused excursions: If you cannot use pre-booked and paid excursions because you are confined to your cabin, cover is available up to £500.

Cruise interruption: If unexpected illness means you need hospital treatment on dry land, cover is available up to £1,000 for additional travel costs to rejoin your cruise. Repatriation may also apply where necessary under the relevant policy cover.
